Extended Day

We run a large number of academic and non-academic after school activities at The Marsh Academy every week.  Known as our Extended Day these activities provide opportunities to extend and enrich our pupils. Activities run for all key stages on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 3:15pm and 4:15pm. It is compulsory for Year 7 students, but all year groups are invited to attend at least one activity per week. We offer a wide range of activities including Duke of Edinburgh Award, Shakespeare Drama Club, Photography, CSI Club, Origami and Homework Club as well as sporting activities including Football, Netball, Badminton and Rugby. KS4 and KS5 students may also be invited to subject revision and catch up sessions on other days of the week.

Transport home is provided on one evening per week for any KS3 student who travels to school on a school coach or train; if they would like to take part in more than one activity per week, and for students in other years, parents and carers will need to make appropriate travel arrangements at the end of the activity.

Transport
The transport arrangements for Year 7 & 8 students are below, all other Year 7 & 8 students, who do not rely on school transport, must make their own arrangements as usual.

Lydd Tuesday or Wednesday - Stagecoach route 102 bus from outside the Marsh Academy which departs at 16:44.
Lydd on Sea Tuesday or Wednesday - Stagecoach route 102 bus from outside the Marsh Academy which departs at 16:44.
Hythe / Folkestone Tuesday or Wednesday - Stagecoach route 102 bus from The Marsh Academy at 16:14. (Students will be allowed to leave early to catch this bus).
Hamstreet, Aldington Tuesday – R & J Coaches and Marsh Academy Minibus will depart at 16:30 and drop students off at the usual points.
Brenzett, Brookland, Ivychurch, Newchurch, Old Romney, St Mary in the Marsh, Dungeness

Wednesday - Mini Bus 2 will depart at 16:30 (YEAR 7 HAVE PRIORITY)
Dymchurch (only available   for students who would normally come to school via Ashford Minibuses),   Burmarsh, Newchurch, Old Romney, St Mary in the Marsh. Wednesday - Mini Bus 2 will depart at 16:30 (YEAR 7 HAVE PRIORITY)
