Free School Transport

Year 6 parents should have received an email from the KCC transport department in March, indicating whether they are eligible for Free School Transport and what to do if they are.  If you haven’t received this email, or have questions regarding free school transport please contact them directly https://www.kent.gov.uk/homeschooltransport.

If you have recently moved or joined the school and think you may be eligible, you can find information about your likelihood of securing free school transport at https://www.kent.gov.uk/homeschooltransport. If you wish to apply, then you will need to apply through the application form, which can be found via a link on the same webpage.

KCC Travel Saver Bus Passes

KCC also offers subsidised bus travel through its Kent Travel Saver scheme. Applications for 2025/26 school year can be made from early June and cannot be applied for before then. You’ll need to apply for a pass by 10 August to guarantee the pass being ready for collection on the first day of school. Marsh Academy Organised Transport to Hamstreet, Aldington and Ashford

KCC do not orgnaise transport from these towns and villages to the Marsh Academy.  We therefore provide our own service which is charged at a similar rate to the KCC Travel Saver pass.  Details about the service will automatically be sent to parents living in these areas during Term 6.

KCC 16+ Travel Saver

The KCC 16+ Travel Saver is a bus pass which can save parents and students up to 50% on the cost of bus travel to and from school and college. To apply for a pass you must be:

  · a resident of Kent (whose household pays Council Tax to a Kent district or borough council for Kent County Council services)

· 16 to 19 years old and in academic years 12 to 14 (to be eligible your date of birth must be between 1 September 2004 and 31 August 2006)

· attending a participating school, college, work, learning provider or apprenticeship provider.

For most students, this pass will save you around 50% of what you might pay if you bought an annual season ticket from a bus operator.

The KCC 16+ Travel Saver is valid at any time of the day and on any day of the year, including evenings, weekends and school holidays.
