Circuit training is a series of exercises performed one after the other with very little rest in between each exercise to achieve that whole body workout. 

Due to the lack of rest that circuit training brings, your heart rate will remain elevated throughout the session and with the combination of weight training and cardiovascular effort, circuit training makes for a beneficial type of cross-training.

Circuits are not just for the fittest of people but also for the beginner as each exercise can be adjusted to each individuals abilities.  All you need to do is complete each exercise the best you can.
