The Centre
For some students, an alternative provision offers the most effective environment in which to access learning, build confidence and achieve success. In these cases, The Centre provides a supportive alternative provision that enables students to continue their education in a nurturing and personalised environment. Some students access The Centre on a full-time basis, while others receive targeted support alongside their mainstream lessons.
Our Aims
The Centre aims to:
- Move from exclusion to inclusion by providing high-quality Alternative Provision (AP) within the main school site.
- Take a holistic, needs-led approach that enables students to engage, achieve and thrive.
- Create a nurturing environment where students feel safe, valued and supported.
- Identify barriers to learning and develop personalised plans that support both academic and personal development.
- Work closely with Academy staff, including the SENDCo, Directors of Learning and Senior Leadership Team, to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
- Develop staff expertise through evidence-informed training and sharing of best practice.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to better understand and support each young person.
- Improve outcomes by increasing attendance, reducing suspensions, preventing permanent exclusions and supporting positive destinations beyond school.

Students benefit from:

- Enrichment opportunities that enhance learning and personal development.
-
A safe, structured and supportive environment that promotes confidence, resilience and success.
Admissions to The Centre are managed in collaboration by Year Teams, the SENDCo and Senior Leadership Team.
Our ultimate aim is to help students overcome barriers to learning, develop the skills they need to succeed, and achieve the very best outcomes for their future.
