Film Certificates

U 40px It is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child but a ‘U’ film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. Not all U films are aimed at children, but may be rated U because they contain no material likely to offend or harm.

Legally a child of any age may view a U film.

‘PG’ Parental Guidance

Pg 40pxPG films are suitable for general viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. A PG film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. However, parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger or more sensitive children.

Legally a child of any age may view a PG film.

12a 40pxTo see a 12A film, any under-12s must be accompanied by an adult. Films rated 12A are not recommended for children under 12. Please read the BBFC Insight to see if the film is suitable for your child. This will tell you about key aspects of the film like violence, language, sex and horror.

Children aged 12 and over may see a 12A film unaccompanied.

Limited Mobility

Our auditorium has 1 wheelchair accessible space.  The cinema box office and the refreshments are at accessible levels for transactions.  There are no steps from the car park through to the auditorium and a fully accessible adapted toilet is located in the same corridor as the other toilets.  The main leisure center has disabled parking spaces that give the easiest access to the cinema.  If you want to reserve a wheelchair space or a particular seat in the cinema, please book online or email

Visually impaired

An audio description facility is available for most of the digitally projected films.  Audio description (AD) works through a special headset, giving people with visual impairments additional commentary on the film in between the actors’ dialogue.  This facility does not interrupt the sound or cinematic experience for the rest of the audience.  Please reserve a headset in advance by emailing:
