The Marsh Way
Our Character Curriculum
The MARSH Way is our character education programme and represents the values we expect every student to demonstrate each day. It provides a clear framework that supports students to achieve highly, contribute positively and flourish in school and beyond.

The MARSH Way Journey
Students progress through a carefully planned character journey during their time at The Marsh Academy.
Belong - Contribute - Lead - Aspire - Succeed - Flourish

Communities - Belonging to Something Bigger
Every student and member of staff at The Marsh Academy belongs to one of our Academy Communities. Named after the lost villages of Romney Marsh, our Communities celebrate local heritage while creating a strong sense of identity, belonging and pride.
Communities play an important role in Academy life, encouraging:
- Participation and teamwork
- Leadership opportunities
- Healthy competition
- Student voice
- Charity and service projects
- Recognition and celebration of achievement
Each Community is led by a member of staff and supported by student leaders who help organise events, represent their peers and strengthen community spirit across the Academy.
Through community events, competitions and celebrations, students develop meaningful connections and a strong sense of belonging throughout their Marsh Academy journey.
