ABOUT THE COURSE
The Cambridge National in Enterprise and Marketing encourages students to develop the practical skills and applied knowledge needed within the business and enterprise sector. The course equips students with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to put their learning into practice while developing valuable transferable skills. It is particularly beneficial for students interested in business, entrepreneurship or setting up their own enterprise in the future.
ASSESSMENT OVERVIEW
Unit R067: Enterprise and Marketing Concepts
Exam Unit (40% of the final grade)
1 hour 15 minutes
In this unit, students learn about the key factors and activities involved in operating a successful small start-up business. The unit provides knowledge and understanding of essential enterprise and marketing concepts, which are then applied in Units R068 and R069.
Unit R068: Design a Business Proposal
NEA (Non-Examined Assessment) - 30% of the final grade
This unit develops the skills and knowledge needed to design a product proposal in response to a business brief. Students learn how to develop market research tools, carry out market research, identify target customers and create a design mix. They then produce and evaluate a product design idea, gather feedback, and assess its strengths and weaknesses. Students also complete financial calculations to determine whether their proposal is likely to be profitable.
Unit R069: Market and Pitch a Business Proposal
NEA (Non-Examined Assessment) - 30% of the final grade
Building on the work completed in Unit R068, students learn how to create a brand identity and promotional plan for their product proposal. They develop a brand designed to appeal to their target market and create a promotional campaign to raise customer awareness. Students then prepare and deliver a professional pitch to an audience, demonstrating their enterprise and marketing skills.
