New Building
The Marsh Academy

Year 6-7 Transition

Introduction

Welcome to the Marsh Academy.

At this Academy, we have a commitment to excellence. We aim for high academic standards but also foster creativity, encourage sensitivity, and courtesy towards others, develop self-motivation and a strong sense of self-worth.

The success of each student is measured in a variety of ways and the development of happy, conscientious students in a safe environment, is as important to us as academic achievement.  We aspire to prepare our students to play a leading role in the wider world.

We encourage communication between home and school, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you have concerns.  The first point of contact is through your child’s Year Team. We look forward to working in partnership with you to provide the best possible education for your child.

Please find below information on the basic organisation within the Academy and should prove invaluable as a reference - so please keep it safe.

Induction Days

Each day will start at 9.15am, however students are welcome to arrive fifteen minutes before. Please drop your child off in the car park where they will be collected and taken to the Theatre. At the end of the day students should also be collected from the car park at 2:45pm.

Students should wear their primary school PE Kit on the first and second induction day, Wednesday 3rd July and Thursday 4th July, then wear their primary school uniform on the third induction day, Friday 5th July. We would also like to ask students to bring in a white shirt/polo shirt (if they are not already wearing one), this is so that we can take their photograph ready for their Parentpay card, which will be issued to them on the first day of term. All students will be given a free school meal for each day of the induction. Students can bring a healthy snack for breaktime if they wish and should also bring a bottle of water with them to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer transport to and from school for this induction period. If your child will be walking home after school, please indicate this on the return form.

UNIFORM

Year 6 Parents will be provided with more details about uniform ordering and collection at the Year 6 Parents' Evening in June.  Please do not order uniform before this date.  Thank you.
