Across KS3, students follow a common core curriculum, studying the following discrete subjects:

Mathematics, Science, English, History, Geography, RE, French, PE, Dance, Drama, Music, ICT*, Art & Technology, PSHE and Catering.

*ICT is taught discretely in Year 7 only

In addition, Year 7 & 8 students participate in the Big Read and Big Debate which covers a wide range of content to supplement the core curriculum and fundamental skills including literacy and communication. The PSHE Curriculum is delivered through the Big Read and Big Debate sessions in Year 7 and 8. This year ICT will also be taught as a discrete subject to Year 7.

Every student has the opportunity to take part in at least one activity from our extensive range of Extended Day activities from 3.15pm – 4:15pm, this is compulsory for Year 7 & 8 and will commence in Term 3.

Some students follow a personalised curriculum, often taught in smaller groups, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy, where this is considered appropriate.

The topics studied at Key Stage 3 in each subject are available to view in the subject documents below.
