Alternative Curriculum

For a small number of KS4 students, for whom the mainstream curriculum is not appropriate, an alternative curriculum is provided, usually within the on-site MACH building.

All students are still expected to follow the common core curriculum, but may spend less time on this, have a slightly reduced set of option subjects and an increased focus on literacy & numeracy and preparation for the future, which in some cases will involve one day per week of a focused Work Experience placement.

In rare circumstances where the needs of a student cannot be met on-site, we work in partnership with Birchwood PRU and Charlton Athletic to meet the needs of these students. The Birchwood PRU website can be found here.
