It's your future...which way will you go?
At The Marsh Academy we are committed to helping you with your career choice, whatever that may be. We run a comprehensive careers programme designed to introduce you to a range of future options and you will be supported every step of the way with a series of one-to-one and group sessions with staff and a careers specialist.
All Year 10, 11 and Post-16 students are given a series of careers interviews with our dedicated Careers Advisor and appointments are also available on request. Whether you know exactly what you want to do after School or Post-16 or if you feel you have no idea, you will be supported to find solutions that are right for you.
We also offer a Career’s Fair in which local and national employees come to speak to students about the world of work and the potential employment opportunities. We also ask business leaders and local employees to come in and give mock interviews to students as a way of preparing them for the real life situations they may face.
We also provide a range of opportunities for you to learn about different university courses, professions and apprenticeships through: a programme of presentations, the UCAS Convention, our Careers Day and discussions with ex-students; who take great pride in returning to school to share their experiences and advice.
Choices - lots of them! And people telling you what they think you should do next. But how do you know what is right for you?
* Think about your skills, interests and likes;
* Consider how you like to learn;
* Talk to your tutors, careers teacher, family, friends, Careers Personal Adviser;
* Work out what money you need and can get to study or work;
* Research ideas in your school, local library, or on the Internet;
* Sort out a back-up plan in case your first choice doesn't work out.
It's important to check all of the options.
