Barriers to Learning
We aim to have a fully inclusive school and the AEN Department is an important part of supporting students in need of some help and guidance.
Here are some of the more common educational needs, which may be supported through the work of our staff both pastorally and through AEN.
• Physical Barriers:
Such as hypermobility, cerebral palsy, scoliosis etc.
• Learning Acquisition Barriers:
Dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia. This also covers boosting spelling, reading and numeracy.
• Hearing Impairment
• Visual Impairment
• Speech, Communication and Language Difficulties
• Autistic Spectrum Disorder:
Including Asperger’s Syndrome
• Behavioural Difficulties:
Including ADD, ADHD
• Long Term Medical Issues
