The Marsh Academy

Christmas week at the Marsh Academy

Various activities will be taking place during week beginning Monday 12th December in the approach to breaking up for Christmas holidays on Friday 16th December.

Year 10 and 11 students will have rehearsal exams from Monday 12th to Thursday 15th December and Years 9 to 13 will also have module exams in January.

Students in Year 7 will be going to St Nicholas church in New Romney on Tuesday 13th for a Christmas Carol concert, where the school choir will perform and readings will be given by some of our students. This year, for the first time, our mini-schools will be contributing entries into the church Christmas flower festival.

The Marsh Academy's Performing Arts Department presents 'Wonderful Christmas Time', an evening of festive entertainment starting at 7pm on Wednesday 14th December 2011. Tickets are now available to buy from school reception at £3 for adults and £2 for children and concessions.

On Thursday 15th Year 7 and 8 students will be involved in an inter-house sports challenge during the morning. Competition between mini-schools to win the trophy will be strong - look out for the results in the spring newsletter.

On Friday 16th December normal lessons will continue for most students, alongside various activities during the morning. Lunch for all students will take place at 12 noon followed by a tutorial time and the school will then finish for the day at 1.00pm. School transport providers have been advised and arrangements have been made to run the usual service at the earlier time.

I would like to wish you a very happy Christmas and New Year from all at the Marsh Academy and thank you for your support throughout this very successful year.

Yours sincerely

Tracy Luke
Executive Principal
