Children in Need
Wednesday 23 November 2011
Staff and students at The Marsh Academy threw themselves into a range of challenges on Friday (18th November) to raise money for Children in Need. Students donated money to wear their own clothes to school, as well as sponsoring staff to complete challenges.
The Academy’s PE staff spent the day dressed as superheroes, ‘flying’ round the school collecting sponsorship, whilst Student Development Leaders refused to complete their challenges until they had raised £400- with good reason! Mr Shell submerged himself in an ice bath, Mrs Friday worked her way through two hot chillis, Mrs Todd covered herself in jelly and flour, whilst Ms Hutchens chopped her way through a stack of tiles!
Post 16 students made cakes to sell, whilst students Ricky Hunt (13) and Rachel Walsh (14) completed sponsored silences.
The Academy raised £1066.83 in total.
