The Marsh Academy

Buckmore Park Trip

Following sustained effort in Engineering, Technology and Motorcycle Maintenance, thirteen students from the Marsh Academy were invited to attend a race day at Buckmore Park, competing against five other colleges/academies from Kent.

Each student got to race twice and the two fastest times from each college/academy were entered into the final.  Representing the Marsh Academy in the final were Jake Jones and Tom Waddell.  Tom drove a superb race in the final, especially as this was his first time on the track, finishing second just behind the much more experienced driver, Jake Hill  from Tunbridge Wells, a 15 year old who is fast establishing a reputation as one of the quickest and most exciting new drivers.

When all the points were added together at the end, the Marsh Academy finished 3rd out of six. The crash of the day goes to Graeme Stewart, a Year 11 student, who lost control on one of the bends in a practise session and drove into the crash barrier at speed.  Not daunted he pulled himself together and took part in his race only minutes later. All students thoroughly enjoyed the day.
