A group of Year 8 students have been working with three artists and musicians on the Pledge Project. The Pledge Project started when Music for Change and Find Your Talent artists teamed up to work with secondary school pupils. The sessions explored issues surrounding asylum seekers, immigration, community and what it means to lose – and rebuild – a place called home.
As a result of their investigations and exploration the students created pledges and promises to try and improve individuals’ attitudes, behaviour and opinions towards immigration, refugees and asylum seekers. The final day of the project involved pupils going to The Quarter House in Folkestone to give a presentation about their work with Mrs Skerry.
A special thanks must go to the following pupils for putting on the weird hats, getting into role and reporting back: Oliver Daws, Charmain Simmons, Rebecca Christmas and Nathan Kavanagh.
On February the 1st the GCSE students in Years 10 and 11 received their exam paper and we wish them all the best in their endeavors.
