Army Activity Day
Tuesday 23 February 2010
In January, thirty-five students from Years 9 – 11 were taken to Shorncliffe Army Barracks where they took part in a Personal Development Activity Day run by the Combat Army Recruitment Team (ART 21).
The day started in small groups, each of which had to complete various physical problem solving activities, good team work and lateral thinking. Enthusiasm for the event ensured that all of the tasks were completed, sometimes in record breaking time.
After a break to rest and refuel, the groups were split into two teams which competed against each other over the purpose built obstacle course. Again, strong group tactics meant that the teams were evenly matched and the course was completed to a very close finish. The day was extremely successful, largely due to the enthusiasm and excellent conduct of the students who took part and we hope to repeat the trip next year.
