This term has been hectic, Years 9, 10 and 11 have all sat at least one GCSE module test and an IAA....a minimum of 20% of their final grade. Some students have made excellent progress.
Students have now been issued with new exercise books for the new topic. Over the next few weeks, all lesson plans, notes from the books and activities that pupils are expected to do will be placed on the MAG. Students, where they have been issued, must bring their charged laptops into every science lesson, as activities are often planned with this resource expected. If a student is away, they can access all this material on the MAG so that they do not fall behind. The deadlines for the Projects and ILTs this term are;
Project 1: Week set: 14th December - Week due in: 4th Jan
ILT 1: Week set: 4th January - Week due in: 11th January
Project 2: Week set: 25th January - Week due in: 8th February
ILT 2: Week set: 8th February - Week due in: 22nd February
These are set as homework and are essential for the tracking and monitoring of progress. The next science GCSE exams are during the week starting 1st March. Reminder to all students to come properly equipped to GCSE exams with a pen, pencil, ruler and calculator.
The winner of the Science prize in the raffle was Samuel Topper. He has won a Nintendo DS. Many pupils had won raffle tickets and a special mention goes to Kirsty Cole, Mollie Byrne, Natasha Sleeman and Andy Crisford who all won many tickets for working consistently above target grades and getting their homework in on time.
