Film Club
Monday 21 December 2009
The Film Club started this term, with Year 10 and 11 seeing Minority Report, starring Tom Cruise and directed by Steven Spielberg. In the film, crime was a thing of the past, because police had the ability to capture citizens before they committed crimes. The technology used to help the police capture would-be criminals seemed flawless, until a cop who relied on it suddenly found himself on the wrong end of the law. Years 7, 8 and 9 saw Millions, starring James Nesbitt and Alexander Nathan Etel, directed by Danny Boyle. Seven-year-old Damien and his 9 year old brother Anthony had an interesting problem on their hands – a bag containing £265,000 had dropped into their lives, and with only a few days left before the British pound was replaced forever by the Euro, they only had one week to spend it, give it away, or try to return it to its owners.
In order to become a member of the film club you need to have had a good record of attendance and behaviour. If you were not elected to the Club this time, you can be invited to the February showing by
improving your attendance and behaviour in Term 3.
