OLYMPIC ATHLETE VISITS YEAR 8

To inspire students’ creativity and get an insight into Olympic life, Lisa Dobriskey, world class Olympic Athlete and former student of our predecessor school, Southlands, came in to speak to the students about their current PBL project "How do you design an Olympic games Village?".   Lisa engaged in two question and answer sessions with Year 8, as well as showing some students her Olympic pass and other memorabilia from the Beijing Olympics.  The visit was a great success, with both students and staff enjoying the experience greatly.

We have had a fantastic start to PBL this year and it is great to see the laptops being used effectively.  From now on homework will be set electronically via the MAG (Marsh Academy Gateway).  For those of you without internet access, the library is open till 5:00pm each evening and a number of printed copies of the homework sheets will be left in the library for you to access.—Ms Franks
