The Marsh Academy

Charivari Day

KS4 students have been working on various Art projects. One group have been working with a group of professional artists on creating the most amazing carnival costumes for the Charivari carnival which took place in Folkestone on 11th July. The day was a great success and the rain stayed off!

Another group worked with an artist on creating a work of art inspired by the local quarry in Lydd. The completed work of art will go on display at the quarry site for some time and will then be returned to be sited in the school.

A group of Year 8 pupils also got the opportunity to work with two local artists. The idea of the project was to allow the pupils to think about their school and what improvements they would like to see in the new build. Time was spent making the most imaginative model of their new school and thinking about the opportunities such a school could bring. Photographs and information about this project will be released on the shine website, which is a new initiative where schools and students can show off their ideas and talents to the world.
