UKMT JUNIOR MATHS CHALLENGE 2009

Year 8 students participated in this year’s Junior Maths Challenge on Thursday 30th April 2009. The challenge is based on mathematical problem solving and although good mathematical knowledge is essential, common sense and process of elimination is useful as well! We, as a school, have taken part in the challenge for a number of years now and many students have achieved bronze and silver certificates from Leeds University, who organise the challenge. There is also a certificate for the best student in school and all participants receive a school certificate.
Results for this year’s challenge will be in after half-term and certificates given out in mini-school assemblies before the end of the academic year. Full results will be published in next term’s Newsletter as well.
