Shortly before Easter we held a Dragons’ Den final to choose the winning eco-friendly transport invention. Congratulations to Nathan Kavanagh of 7b2 who received the Dragons’ approval and won the project. All groups who took part in the live final in front of our Dragons should be praised on the effort they put into their projects. Well done!
This term has seen the students survive on a remote tropical island. They have been writing about the problems they have faced and their experiences on the island through a number of diary entries. This project has also seen them studying the novel Nims Island by Wendy Orr.
As part of the "Every Child Matters" agenda we held a Health and Fitness day in the spring term. Students got to experience a variety of new activities such as golf and tennis with coaching from professionals. Students were also introduced to a range of healthy alternatives to sweets and fizzy drinks! Look out for the winning healthy lifestyle posters around school. I hope to continue these events with the organisation of a safety day later in the summer term promoting awareness of fire, road and e-safety.
Could I remind all Yr 7 students that they must bring their laptops in to all PBL lessons charged and ready to use. Any concerns over the laptops must be reported immediately to IT-Support.
Finally, The Marsh Academy Gateway (MAG) is now active and all students in Yr 7 have a username and password which they can use to log on. Via the MAG students can access their classes weekly schedules and most of the teaching resources we use in class.
