Quarry Art—A group of 15 KS4 pupils have been working with an artist, Jane Pitt, on creating a work of art inspired by the local quarry site. The pupils visited the site to gather ideas, inspiration and to experience the natural environment and they are now working in collaboration with Jane to create a work of art that will be displayed in a local exhibition to promote the quarry, before being returned to the school.
Chari Vari day—A group of pupils will be working alongside Strange Cargo Arts Company based in Folkestone, to create giant carnival costumes which will be paraded through Folkestone on 11th July for the Chari Vari carnival.
The pupils involved will have first hand experience of this creative carnival industry and will perform in the carnival, representing the school.
Connect Project—A group of pupils will be working in school with two artists. These pupils will be exploring different ways that we communicate and they will have the chance to reflect upon their own learning and how they gather information and communicate. This project is being run with the support of Future Creative, a company which specialises in artists working in schools with pupils of all ages and abilities.
